The Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies was sanctioned the SAP-DRS program on "LANGUAGE TECHNOLOGY" as its thrust area of research by UGC for five years (01.04.2002-2007) as 1st phase approval, vide letter No. F.5-29/2001(SAP-III), dt/20th, March 2002. A grant of Rs. 25,00,000 was given as funding to carry out the activities. In addition to the above, grants for the appointment of two Project Fellows were made available.
